Dr. Lawrence W. Tarrant began his practice in plastic and reconstructive surgery in 1971. Dr. Tarrant is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He has also earned a specialist certificate in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons, Canada. He has achieved the coveted title of Fellow in the American College of Surgeons as well as in the Royal College of Surgeons, Canada. He is fully trained in all aspects of modern plastic and reconstructive surgery including:

• Cosmetic surgery of the face and body
• Breast surgery
  • Reconstruction
  • Augmentation
  • Reduction

• Suction-assisted lipectomy
• Body contouring
• All laser procedures

Additionally, his reconstructive experience includes repairing trauma, cancer, congenital problems such as cleft lips and birthmarks, and all other aspects of reconstructive surgery.

A Michigan native, Dr. Tarrant graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree and subsequently, a Doctor of Medicine degree. He completed an internship at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan, followed by 3 years of residency training in General Surgery at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. His Plastic Surgery residency was completed at the McGill Teaching Hospitals in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Throughout his career in medicine, Dr. Tarrant has had a keen interest in the education and training of young physicians. For the 12 years before moving his practice from Michigan to West Virginia, Dr. Tarrant held an appointment as Associate Professor from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, Department of Surgery, where he participated in the training of medical students and resident physicians. He currently holds an appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor at West Virginia University School of Medicine, Department of Surgery, through which he continues to be actively involved in the training and supervision of medical students.

Dr. Tarrant is licensed to practice medicine in Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia. He holds staff positions at St. Joseph's Hospital and Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg, West Virginia, and at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, Ohio. In addition to surgical care, Dr. Tarrant offers an excellent skin-care program, which is overseen by Cindy Hoops, R.N., under his supervision.

The office staff includes two licensed Registered Nurses, Cindy Hoops and Shari Tarrant, and the Office Manager, Donna Spencer. Dr. Tarrant and his staff are committed to providing the finest in plastic surgical care in a caring, compassionate, and personalized setting.

Happily married since 1964, Dr. Tarrant and his wife, Shari, are the proud parents of five adult children.
